Business Idea: Should we charge doctors for the time we waste in their waiting rooms?

I had to take my mom to the dentist yesterday. Our appointment was for 10:00 am and we reached there at 9:45 am so that we can fill out the paper work and be ready for the doctor at 10:00 am. But of course, as we wait in the waiting room (now I know why they literally call it that) no one calls her name at 10:00. We wait longer and clock strikes 11am, still no call. 11am became 11:45 am when she was called in by the nurse into the examination room. Nurse checked her blood pressure and weight and then moved us into the examination room.

We waited another 15-20 minutes before the doctor finally came in to see us. So, even though we had 10 am appointment, the dentist didn’t see her till 12:05 pm, that’s 2 hours of our wasted time.

I am a Project Manager and my time is precious. I just wasted 2 hours of my time and my mom’s time away from our jobs. Shouldn’t I charge the doctor for my time, if they are going to charge me for theirs.

Shouldn’t we be allowed to charge the dentist for our time being wasted in the waiting room?

2 hours of waiting is ridiculous. I suggest looking for a new dentist who is more organized and puts more value on your time. I hope this dentist at least apologized for wasting your time.
